The California Sycamore (Platanus racemosa) is a large, native shade tree commonly found along streams and open spaces throughout Southern California. It grows quickly and develops a broad canopy, making it ideal for large landscapes. However, it requires more water than many drought-tolerant species and has aggressive surface roots that can impact nearby hardscape if not properly placed.
